1991-1992 Season  

  • There were 716 players registered with Ringette Calgary
  • Ringette Alberta conformed to the rest of Canada, and eliminated "C" level Ringette.
    Rep teams were now AA instead of A, B teams became A, and C teams became B level.
  • Ringette Calgary Casino was held December 16-17, 1991 at the Elbow River Inn Casino - $12,785.11 was earned
  • Ringette Alberta Cash Calendars were sold by Calgary teams to help raise funds for Team Alberta's trip to the World Ringette Championships in Helsinki, Finand (March 1992)
  • ’AA’ tryout fees were $25.00 for early registrations and $30.00 late registrations
  • Ice billings were $77.00/hr.
  • Ringette Canada Banned the Stinger 1000, 5000, and Itech R2000 due to loose tips
  • Player Development: Ringette Calgary Y.A.C. (Youth Advisory Committee)
    1st meeting was held November 21, 1991, dissolved February 25, 1992 due to lack of interest
  • NCCP courses- Calgary held 5, Edmonton held 4
  • Gillette Soft 'N Dry National Ringette Week was held November 10-17, 1991.
  • All of the Calgary AA teams attended the WOOD INVITATIONAL RINGETTE TOURNAMENT in Edmonton, with four of the five teams winning gold (the Belles won silver).
  • Four editions of the "Ringette Calgary Newsletter" were put together by volunteer Marie Knowles
  • Due to increased workload on volunteers Ringette Calgary hired a paid employee in June 1991and relocated the Ringette Calgary office to 1711 -10th Avenue SW. The employee and office space were shared in an agreement with Calgary Minor Softball Association.
  • Cable 10 television telivised five Junior A level city playoff games
  • There were 60 active Officials registered, officiating 900 games over the season.

The 6th annual Esso Golden Ring was held Jan. 24-26,1992 and hosted Bunny through Masters
There were 125 teams, 1800 players and 253 games over 3 days

The Alberta Winter Games were held in Fort McMurray.

Calgary NW Black Knights won the right to represent Calgary in a 3 team playoff, and went on to win GOLD in the 1992 Alberta Winter Games

"CLEAN SWEEP" by Calgary AA Teams
for National Representation

AA provincial playoffs were held in Edmonton with five Calgary teams participating. Four teams won GOLD, and for the second time in three years, Calgary sent a Junior, Belle and Deb team to the Canadian Ringette Championships (held in Port Coquitlam).
This was the 9th consecutive provincial championship gold for the Calgary Deb AA team.
